A MARQUEE and gazebo supplier’s staff got to meet a host of celebrities including TV Dragon Peter Jones and footballing legend Alan Shearer when the firm sponsored of a charity golf tournament.

Gala Tent, based in Farfield Park, Manvers, sponsored the Peter Jones Foundation Enterprise Charity Golf Tournament.

As well as Alan Shearer, attendees included record breaking British swimmer Mark Foster, former Wasps rugby player Paul Doran Jones, as well as Reggae Reggae Sauce entrepreneur Levi Roots, all of whom helped to raise more than £50,000 for the enterprise education initiatives and the Forgotten Children programmes.

Gala Tent’s print and branding division Gala Graphics, based in the Dearne Valley, created the brochures, pop up banners, and promotional flags for the event, which was held at the Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, located in Sindlesham, Berkshire.

Jason Mace, managing director of Gala Tent, said: “It was a great day which I really enjoyed. We didn’t win the Golf tournament, but it was a real privilege again to sponsor this event which raises so much money for a great course.

“I am passionate about helping the next generation of entrepreneurs and working with the Peter Jones Foundation as I find giving back really rewarding.”

Speaking about meeting football legend Alan Shearer and other celebrities, Jason said: “They were all nice blokes and easy to get on with. I have met Peter Jones quite a few times and he is genuinely one of the good ones.”

Gala Tent has been involved with the Peter Jones Foundation since 2011 when the National Enterprise Academy was established at Sheffield College, offering 16-18 year olds the opportunity to undertake a one-year BTEC Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, as part of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

Peter Jones said: “I would like to send my personal thanks to Jason Mace and Gala Tent for their support.”
