A 'DUMMY' fairy has visited Barnsley to encourage youngsters to give up their dummies.

The Dummy Fairy visited Rising Stars Children's Centre in Worsbrough where children were taken into the woods and were told a story about a magical creature which had its dummy taken away.

The children then hung their dummies on a tree and went off to play.

When they returned, their dummies had been taken away by the Dummy Fairy who left certificates for them in a trail of glitter.

Hannah Hinchliffe, of the nursery, said: "My four-year-old daughter Amelia has a bed time dummy and we're trying to get rid of it. It's a really nice way to encourage children to give up their dummies."
