EIGHT goals were shared in a football match in aid of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Worsbrough Common got the better of Lundwood by six goals to two at a match at Wombwell Main Cricket Club on Sunday afternoon.

The game was held in honour of Darfield girl Darcy Burke who died earlier this year aged six.

Steve Hockey, 53, who helped to organise and is Darcy's uncle, said: "It was a thriller of a match with Lundwood trying their best to the last whistle but Worsbrough were just too good on the day.

"The man of the final was Tommy Dolan but there were no losers in this game as Darcy's Cup is a tournament organised by Joe Gibbons to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

"Darcy's dad Dave Burke presented the cup and medals to the winners.

"We would like to thank Wombwell Main Cricket Club for the use of their field and the fun day they organised afterwards."

Money raised from the day is still being counted up.
