Barnsley under 18s made it eight wins in a row with a 3-1 success at Category Two North league leaders Huddersfield Town on Saturday morning.

 

Nana Yiadom opened the scoring on three minutes then centre-back Dean Freeman's brace made it 3-0 before half-time. Town pulled one back but the second-placed Reds won to move witthin two points of top spot.

 

The top two at the end of the season will go through to play-offs against the winners and runners up from the southern league.

 

Barnsley got the perfect start to the game when Nana scored his 11th of the season following a good team move.

 

Freeman then headed in George Smith's free-kick on 23 minutes then scored again on 39 minutes after the home goalkeeper spilt a corner from Reds captain Harrison Biggins.

 

Huddersfield were much-improved in the second half and, as well as their goal, they hit the post, forced a superb save from Reds stopper Elliot Chadderton and Freeman blocked a shot on the line.
