A BARNSLEY green energy company is celebrating its 50,000th installation of free solar panels.
A Shade Greener, based in Tankersley, has installed more than 1,700 of these on homes throughout the Barnsley area.
The firm was the first installer of completely free solar panels in the UK and grew from a small provider to a nationwide brand, creating 700 jobs in Barnsley.
The free panels are because of the 'feed in tariff' which means they generate money for the company as well as free energy for the households where they are installed.
