AN engineer spent more than 24 hours under arrest in the Middle East after complaining about the service on his holiday airline flight.

After enduring “sheer hell” and spending Christmas Day handcuffed in cells in Qatar, Ken Hunter was then forced to fork out more than £1,200 before he could leave the country - even though the authorities said he had done nothing wrong.

Ken, 57, is furious at the way he was treated by Qatar Airways and has contacted his MP to ask that something can be done to ensure no other passenger is treated as badly.

Electrical engineer Ken, from Cloverlands Drive, Mapplewell, was never told what charges he faced until he ended up in court late on Christmas Day. The two judges dismissed the case.
