EXPERIENCE Barnsley has received its 100,000th visitor after just nine months of opening.

Jennifer Crimp, from Hoyland, took a trip to the museum in Barnsley town hall on Friday with her husband Brian and grandson Henry.

They returned to the museum on Monday to receive a special prize donated by Wortley Hall – a one night stay including dinner and breakfast.

Coun Roy Miller said: "Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Crimp on being our 100,000th visitors.

'The culture offer in Barnsley has been extremely successful and to have so many people visit Experience Barnsley in such a short period of time is testament to just how popular and well-loved the museum and discovery centre is."
