A FAMILY whose dog was savaged as they walked across a supermarket car park said they are angry the police have done nothing to stop it happening again.

Debbie Greenhoff’s partner, Dave Clegg, has walked from their home on Wood Street, Barnsley, to Morrisons, Barnsley, to use the cash dispenser and took their Jack Russell, Tod, with him.

As he walked across the car park, three dogs attacked Tod, leaving her with such serious injuries that a vet suggested she should be put to sleep.

But the couple were determined not to let the little dog die and she was operated on instead, leaving her with dozens of stitches, and them with a bill for nearly £500.

Care assistant Debbie, 52, said they reported the incident, which happened last July, to the police the day after and reports were taken, but just two weeks ago, the officer dealing with it came back to them and said there was nothing they could do.
