THE family and friends of a Barugh Green man who died suddenly marked his 30th birthday by raising their target of £30,000.

Robert Cooper died in November 2010 from cardiomyopathy, an uncommon, genetic condition which affects the heart.

He had been working as an electrician on a new housing development when he was found collapsed and rushed to hospital.

His family and friends honour his memory every year, but this year decided to mark his 30th birthday by holding a fundraising evening to raise money for the Cardiomyopathy Association.
