THE STOTHERT family are celebrating five generations for a second time.
Five generations of the family were reunited at a wedding at Shaw Lane Cricket Club last week.
Great-great-grandmother Helen Stothert, 79, from Manor Way, Hoyland, her daughter Karen Pennington, 58, from Turner’s Close, Jump, her daughter Louise Holmes, 40, from Hoyland Road, Platts Common, her daughter Molly Golby, 21, from Market Street, Hoyland and one-year-old Carter Michael Golby were all together for the first time since Carter was born.
The picture echoed a similar feat 21 years ago when the ladies were joined by Helen’s mother Mary Jones for a picture.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
