A couple's aim to keep the balloon bought when their daughter was born may seem a bit overblown to some.
But three house moves and years later, the balloon and the ambition of Shaun Cunliffe and his wife Lisa have never deflated.
Shaun, 44, and Lisa, 43, got out the balloon when daughter Jessica celebrated her 18th birthday at the weekend.
A photo taken after Jessica's birth with the balloon in the background survives too. Lisa said: "The balloon has been kept in a toy box and a wardrobe. Jessica played with it and so did her brother Thomas, now ten.
"Jessica is pleased the balloon has not gone down and it is still around."
Jessica, who was born at Dennison Court, off Sheffield Road, Barnsley, has spent the last two years at Barnsley College and is due to study sport at Sheffield Hallam University in September.
