BARNSLEY Football Club has banned a fan for life making offensive comments on the internet following the match against Bradford City on Sunday.

The man wrote racist comments on Facebook about Bradford's Pakistani community and also taunted the Bantams about the 1985 Valley Parade fire in which 56 people died.

"We cannot tolerate that sort of behaviour and appropriate action has been taken," said Ben Mansford, Barnsley's chief executive.

"As a club, we totally condemn those comments."
