FAST-FOOD superhero Munchie Man has been put forward as start up of the year for his entrepreneurial spirit.

Paul Appleby, of Intake Crescent, Dodworth, launched the business in February taking orders for people who didn't want to pick Macdonalds.

Now he also delivers KFC, original Dil Raj, Hot Jacks at the Alhambra, Woody's Fish and Chips and Urban Flavour at Mapplewell.

He delivers food to his customers in his specially-adapted Munchies van which has equipment inside to keep the food warm.

"It's absolutely fantastic that I've been nominated. I'm surprised and shocked," said Paul.

Paul said he has spent £5,000 setting up the business and website after reading in the Chronicle about Allan Stead, from Elsecar, who started a similar service.
