PARTS of Barnsley could experience faster broadband by the end of this year as part of the Superfast South Yorkshire project.

The £22m project was announced last year and will ensure high speed broadband coverage for about 98 per cent of homes across the borough.

It is being jointly funded by the government, BT and Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield Councils. Early indications show Cudworth and Grimethorpe, Ardsley, Dodworth and Hoyle Mill could see completion by the end of this year.
