A 'leaning house' in Hoyland Common could collapse next to a busy road and is an eyesore, neighbours fear.
The house at 31 Tankersley Lane has fallen into disrepair and neighbours says its gables ends are literally hanging in the balance.
Owner Ben Dalton has applied to demolish it three times, but plans have been postponed because details must be "ironed out" with Wentworth Estates who originally owned the land.
Mr Dalton wants to knock down the house and replace it with two detached homes.
He applied for planning permission to Barnsley Council in March 2012, then in December 2013 and again in May this year.
The house was described in one application as "run down and in a poor state of repair" and a Tankersley parish councillor reported it to the parish council.
He said demolition plans had been resubmitted to Barnsley Council this week.
He added: "We put a fence round the house as a precaution as people were paranoid it was going to collapse."
