Firefighters were called to a town centre pub after an electrical fault caused white smoke to pour from a window.
The electric metre at Esmerelda's on Peel Street started to give off smoke at about 6pm on Sunday and crews from Barnsley, Cudworth and Tankersley attended the scene.
Firefighters used dry powder to stop the metre smoking and the electricity board was called to check the electrics.
The fire crews shortly after 8pm.
The bar was closed at the time and there was nobody inside.
