BARNSLEY firefighters helped a brave little boy who was suffering from cancer realise his dream of being a firefighter for the day.

Kasabian Newton-Smith, eight, has been fighting cancer since he was two.

Part of his ‘bucket list’ was to be a firefighter, and so a family friend decided to make it happen.

Kasabian, of Sheffield, visited Barnsley Fire Station where staff on white watch welcomed him on to the team for the day.
