Former AFC Wimbledon youth player Ethan Pinnock is hoping for another win tomorrow at the start of what he admits could be a 'big season' in his career.

The 25-year-old centre-back spent a year with the Dons' under 18s in 2010/11, when the first team were promoted into the EFL. He then spent six years playing for their non-league neighbours Dulwich Hamlet.

With Wimbledon due to visit Oakwell tomorrow, Pinnock said: "I was there for a year. I know the ground and the club and the area. It won't be weird to play against them, because that's just football. They will be strong from set pieces and they have good deliveries. It will be a tough game but we'll be looking for another win."

Pinnock has played 18 Reds games since joining from Forest Green Rovers last summer, including every minute of the first three fixtures this season. He played alongside Adam Jackson in the Carabao Cup loss at Blackpool on Tuesday after partnering Liam Lindsay in the league wins over Oxford United and Bradford City.

Pinnock struggled to hold down a regular place in the team as the Reds were relegated from the Championship last season, his first in the EFL.It is now Jackson who is a back-up to Pinnock and Lindsay.

He said: "Every player wants to be out there playing. I am glad to have started the season and hopefully I will keep playing well. All over the pitch there is competition for places. Jacko is a really good player who played a lot last season. It's healthy competition and it helps keep the standards really high, even in training.

"I think it could be a really big season for me and the team. I have really enjoyed it so far. The boys have got behind what the gaffer wants to do. We have kept pretty much most of the squad and we are looking to improve. We have shown a bouncebackability from the relegation so far and the boys really understand each other after being together for a year.

"We have all taken on board things that happened last season. All the boys are buzzing but we need to remember it is very early days."
