FORMER England international footballer Sue Smith helped pass on her winning ways to students when she paid a visit to Barnsley Academy last week.

Sue is a mentor for the Sky Sports Living for Sport Project, which works with young people aged 11 to 18 from across the country using sport to inspire students to achieve more, and she called in on Barnsley Academy to lead a special assembly talking about aspirations.

Kickstarting her career with Tranmere Rovers in the 1990s, Sue went on to play football for a number of top league clubs including Leeds United, Lincoln Ladies and Doncaster Rovers Belles. She also represented England from 1997 until 2011, with a grand total of 93 caps.
