PARENTS who made the heartbreaking decision to end the life of their unborn twin daughter to save her brother have been left devastated after he died.

William O'Brien died of a blood infection on Saturday after being born 16 weeks early in August.

A fund-raising campaign has now been set up to raise money for a headstone for the twins.

Devastated parents Allun and Niki, of Park Hill Grove, Dodworth, said their tiny little boy - who weighed just 1lb 6oz when he was born - was perfect.

The couple, who have been together a year, have set their heart on the £2,500 headstone and were astounded to learn £400 in donations have already been made.

The heart-shaped stone has a teddy bear on either side - one for each twin, said Niki.

Allun added: "We were really shocked. We want to say thank you to these people, we just can't believe people want to do this for us. This headstone is the last thing we can do for our babies."
