JACK Linford may only lived for two short years but his life touched many people - fundraising in his memory has already raised more than £2,000 and continues to grow.

His parents Laura and Simon are determined to help other sick children and Laura recently visited the sensory room of the children's ward at Barnsley hospital to donate items bought in Jack's memory.

An on-line petition calling for newborn babies to be screened for the condition that killed Jack has also attracted more than 1,000 signatures.

Jack suffered from VLCAD -a rare genetic condition which prevents the body from converting certain fats to energy.

His older brother Alex, aged five, also suffers from the rare and life-limiting genetic condition.
