THE future of a hand car wash in Cudworth will be decided ‘shortly’, according to Barnsley Council.
The business, on Pontefract Road, is currently operating on a temporary 18-month licence which is due to expire at the end of the month but it has applied for permanent residency.
The application, which was submitted in the spring, is yet to go before the council’s planning board but a spokesman from the local authority told the Chronicle this week that a decision will be made soon.
“The permission ends this month,” the spokesman added. “The council has received an application to allow use to continue beyond November, and it intends to determine this shortly.”
