A PRE-SCHOOL has been given a ‘good’ rating by school inspector Ofsted.

Barugh Green Pre-School received good scores across the board.

Inspector Alison Byers’s report said: “Staff are skilled at using children’s interests and play to promote their next steps in learning.

“They make accurate assessments of children’s development to find out exactly what each child needs to learn next.

“Staff use their interactions with children to effectively extend their learning and introduce new ideas.”

The report also praised the ‘strong partnerships’ the school builds with parents, and the opportunities children have to develop their own independence.

The inspection on April 27 was the first since 2015.

The pre-school has maintained its ‘good’ status after an ‘inadequate’ rating in 2014, given for breaching legal requirements regarding the suitability of the management team.
