BARNSLEY could lose its district team, leaving the town's officers with bosses based miles away as government cuts bite further.
It is only two months since the old safer neighbourhood teams were scrapped and merged with 'response' officers who had previously turned out to emergencies.
Now talks have begun which could see those officers managed by just one county-wide management team, instead of the four that currently exist.
