A DRIVE to help others get fit won one lucky gym member a new motor.
Jordan Parks, 26, took home a new Toyota Aygo as part of Barnsley Premier Leisure’s Refer Win Drive campaign.
Every referral given gave members a chance to win prizes.
Jordan has been a member at Dearneside Leisure Centre for more than two years.
He said: “It still seems surreal - it is not every day you win a car. I couldn’t believe it. I was thrilled.”
Members were also given a month’s free membership for every successful referral.
The car came from Burrows Toyota in Barugh Green.
BPL chief executive Tim Wilson said: “We’ve had more than 1,000 referrals from the campaign. That means another 1,000 participants in physical activity, which is the main motivator for us.
“It’s about getting local people more active and giving something back to the community.”
