Reds winger Adam Hammill will remain with the club until the end of the season.

Hammill, 27, penned a short-term deal in November and has impressed during his return to Oakwell.

The former Liverpool player has now agreed to extend his stay until the end of June.

Hammill has scored twice in Barnsley's run to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final and has also played in four league games since rejoining the club.

Head coach Lee Johnson told Barnsley FC's website: "Adam made no secret of his desire to stay at Barnsley and we're naturally delighted to have secured his services to the end of the season.

"He’s committed to the cause and he has proven qualities, so it’s a deal that I’m thrilled to get over the line and we can now plan for the second half of the season with Adam a key part of our squad."

This is Hammill's third spell at the club after he made a loan move permanent back in 2009.
