A HEADTEACHER has apologised to parents after a 'good news story' about free breakfasts for kids backfired.

Some parents at Kendray's Forest Academy said they had received abuse on Facebook by people accusing them of not feeding their children after last week's article in the Chronicle about the school's breakfast club.

It followed a comment by headteacher Sam Bailey saying 'almost 40 per cent of children were arriving every day without a breakfast inside them'.

But angry parents took to Facebook saying they were offended and hurt by the suggestion that their children weren't being fed at home.
