A ROYSTON councillor has called for a covert camera to be positioned at a fly-tipping blackspot in the village.

Coun Caroline Makinson claims weekly reports of tipping are made on Lee Lane, which connects Royston with the A61 Barnsley Road.

“Some sort of action must be taken as there are weekly problems on Lee Lane and little has been done about it.

“There’s been clean-ups in the past but there’s another load of rubbish there a week later.”

Kingdom Security, the firm employed by the North East Area Council, will now deploy its officers to the location.
