DANCING queen Anna Richards has plenty of reasons to smile.

The 13-year-old from Birdwell virtually swept the board at a regional dance event last weekend which attracted more than 500 dancers from throughout the north.

Anna, of Falcon Drive, who has been dancing since she was a tot, had hoped she might win one of the classes.

In fact the Horizon pupil gained four first places, one third place, won the modern dance championship, was second in the classical dance championship and got the highest mark in the entire dance festival for her character dance.

Her proud mum Adele said: "There was some amazing talent at the competition, which was staged in Doncaster, so we were thrilled at Anna's achievements."

Anna wants to work in the performing arts when she grows up.
