GREENFIELD primary school in Hoyland has signed up to a high-tech system which tracks pupils' progress and is said to save teachers hours.

The educational software has been created by Yorkshire developer Formative Data Systems and is designed to eliminate paper-based, time-consuming systems and can be used to identify priorities, track progress against targets, inform assessments and signpost problems.

The live, online data tracks progress of children from birth to 11.

It helps identify underachievement in individuals and groups, spotlight high flyers, inform teaching strategies and target intervention more effectively with instant access to pupil data.

Michelle Cook, assistant headteacher at Greenfield primary school said: "We have recently invested and are so impressed. It is very easy to use, saves us precious time and is also up-skilling some of our staff.

"We are very excited to be introducing it to parents shortly so they can view their child's learning journey online and send us comments and observations from home."
