The Chronicle will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Barnsley FC's only ever season in the Premier League with some legendary Reds on Friday, April 26.

Former players John Hendrie and Craig Hignett, as well as John Dennis – who was chairman when the Reds got promotion to the top flight – will join journalist Matthew Murray from 7.30pm at  Horizon Community College on Dodworth Road. They will discuss the promotion season and Premiership campaign and there will be a big screen showing footage of games from that era.

Tickets cost £10, including a free Chronicle, and can be purchased from 01226 734276 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Callers must pay by card, excluding American Express.

Hendrie joined Barnsley during their promotion season and played for them in the Premiership before becoming manager. He scored 20 goals in 76 matches for the club.

Hignett joined the Reds the season after they were relegated from the top flight and almost got them back there as they reached the Wembley play-off final in 2000. He scored 37 goals in 80 games for Barnsley.
