RADIO presenter and transgender icon Stephanie Hirst was top of the class on Monday when she received an honorary doctorate for her contribution to public life.
The award-winning radio DJ, television presenter and broadcaster, who hails from Athersley North, started working in radio at a young age.
She is probably best known for fronting ‘Hirsty’s Daily Dose’ on Capital FM for 11 years.
However it is not just her broadcasting and radio talents that have put her in the spotlight.
In 2014, she announced her transition from Simon to Stephanie.
