A MUM who home schools three of her four children is setting up a new support group for other parents who wish to do the same.

Emma Abraham has no teaching qualifications, but she teaches her children reading, writing, baking, takes them to the play area and does craft activities with them.

There are currently 131 home-schooled pupils in Barnsley - 47 of primary school age and 84 secondary.

Emma, 30, of Freeman Street, Worsbrough Common, said: "I think a lot of people are realising you don't have to send your children to school. The norm is you go to nursery, school and secondary school, but school is not compulsory, it's just education which is and parents are learning this."
