HOMES in Wombwell and jobs in Thurnscoe could be created under nearly £10m redevelopment plans from Scottish company Balmoral.
Currently based on Hough Lane in Wombwell, Balmoral Tanks, a division of Balmoral Group, have already bought and secured planning for the 12-acre Hickleton Colliery site as a new base for the expanding company.
The move would see their old Wombwell site transformed into a residential site for approximately 40 homes, and provide 25-30 more jobs at the company’s new, bigger Thurnscoe Business Park location.
Balmoral Tanks specialise in creating large, storage tanks which are shipped internationally. They have provided tanks to places such as London’s Olympic Village and Sharjah Airport in the UAE.
Managing director Allan Joyce said tanks is one of the fastest growing sections of the company.
