STOLEN goods have been returned to Barnsley Hospice - with the help of some local children - after thieves targeted charity shop delivery vans last month.

Thieves broke the passenger side windows of both the vans at the donation centre on the Fall Bank Industrial Estate, Dodworth, but were caught on CCTV and ran away before anything valuable could be taken.

The stolen goods were located and returned this week by Barnsley West neighbourhood team.

A spokesperson for the team said: “A Barnsley Hospice van was broken into and with the help of some local children, the stolen goods were located, handed to ourselves, and we returned them to Barnsley Hospice.”
