Barnsley captain Conor Hourihane has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time.

The 25-year-old has excelled for Barnsley this season with three goals, scoring three goals from midfield and assisting many others while being named Championship Player of the Month for August.

Ireland boss Martin O'Neill has included Hourihane in an extended 33-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Moldova next month.
