A DECISION on a controversial housing development in Bolton-upon-Dearne has been deferred at the request of a local residents' group.

The decision on whether developers Gleeson should be allowed to extend their current building in the area by 58 houses had been due to be discussed at Barnsley Council's planning board meeting on Tuesday.

But an appeal from the Friends of Lowfield Road Action Group (FLAG) was considered by the board and a site visit will now take place before a decision is made.
