Former Barnsley captain turned agent Brian Howard says his client Jacob Brown is ‘sought after’ but is advising him and his team-mates to stay at Oakwell.

Brown, 21, has been one of the Reds’ star players in 2019 – replacing the sold Brad Potts on the right wing in January and contributing eight goals and six assists for the promoted side.  He signed a new contract this season until 2021.

His agent Howard said: “He’s a very sought-after young player after the season he has had and he has all the attributes to play at the very top level. But he’s still got a lot of development to do and there is no better place for him to do that than with Barnsley in the Championship under Daniel Stendel.

“I think that is true of all Barnsley’s team. Hardly any of them have had a full, successful season in the Championship and I think they should focus on doing that with Barnsley then they will be in an even better position than they are now.”
