LONG-AWAITED multi-million-pound plans for Hoyland's redeveloped market and town centre have been unveiled to the public for the first time.

Resilienti - the developer working on the scheme with Barnsley Council - held an open forum in the market on Tuesday to explain the proposal and present artists' impressions.

The plan is to move the market to a new site on Southgate behind the existing Co-op. There will be new retail behind the town hall and a new supermarket on Market Street to be completed by autumn 2016.
