THE HUNT is on for a mystery woman who stepped in after a man’s heart stopped in Wombwell.

Julie Crossland is helping dad Selwyn, 56, track down a mysterious good Samaritan called Carol, who found him, called an ambulance and stayed with him until it arrived.

Julie said: “Dad was walking back home from the Job Centre at the cross roads of Hough Lane, Summer Lane, Church Street and King’s Road, outside the old Royal Oak pub. He said he didn’t feel too good and then collapsed. As he was coming around he saw a lady helping him, who phoned the ambulance, and stayed talking and reassuring him until it arrived.

“He just wants to find her so he can give her a big thank you and buy her some flowers. This is the fourth time since March he has collapsed and, using a recording device in his chest, the doctors found out his heart had stopped for eight seconds.”
