A PLAY area which was left ‘unusable’ after being repeatedly targeted by vandals will be repaired.

The well-used playground on Royston Road, Cudworth, had its climbing frame covered in graffiti and safety matting damaged a matter of weeks ago but the North East Area Council has agreed to use funds set aside for repairs to bring it back into use.

At a meeting yesterday, members agreed ringfenced money - totalling £5,000 - will be accessed having been set aside last year.

Coun Charlie Wraith said: “It’s the second time the play area has been significantly damaged and it’s down to the idiots who are intent on causing trouble across Cudworth, but this money is there so repairs can be done.”
