Barnsley Woolley Miners’ coach admits their league title hopes will be over if they lose at Yorkshire South Premier leaders Doncaster Town tomorrow, but believes a victory will open up the race for first.

After a comprehensive league victory over local rivals Elsecar left them third in the table, the Shaw Laners have won their last three league matches and, although they are 30 points behind Doncaster, they could cut the lead by 12 tomorrow.

Coach Chris Marples said: “It’s a must-win for us and, if we lose, there’s no way we can catch them. If we win, it will still be a big ask but we’ll keep going and see if we can peg them back. We will be going there in good form and confident that we can win.”
