AN investigation has been launched after a hair salon was deliberately set alight in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Firefighters from Dearne, Adwick and Edlington were called to Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe at 4.29am following reports that a building was on fire.
Upon arrival they found a fire in an extractor van unit on the outside of the building. A hose reel was used initially before firefighters entered the salon to see if the fire had spread internally.
The incident had been dealt with by 5.33am, with a fire investigator later attending the site to establish the cause of fire.
A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Do you know who started this fire? Help us help you by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
