SKY Sports presenter Jeff Stelling completed his mammoth walking challenge to raise £500,000 for Prostate Cancer UK - but not before meandering almost ten miles through Barnsley.

The host of Soccer Saturday was joined by former footballers Chris Kamara, Paul Jewell and Ronnie Moore as he left Barnsley FC last Tuesday and headed towards Bradford as part of his March for Men 15 marathons in 15 days.

Jeff, 62, said he had been apprehensive when he set off on the 400-mile trek which started in Exeter, but had become more confident the further he walked. The walk finished at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park on last Friday.

Jeff said: “We did ten miles on Tuesday morning which took us to a landmark 300 miles and thankfully the weather was nice.

“We had lots of support from passing drivers along the way and I was joined by Chris Kamara, Paul Jewell and Ronnie Moore who came to help me along the way.

“It was nice to have some company, and it’s important because it’s a long time on your feet, ten hours a day. You need people to chat to.”
