ALL that glitters is business gold for one young entrepreneur.

Jen Hammonds, 20, has appeared at some of the UK’s biggest festivals with her business Naughty Unicorn.

Specialising in body glitter, she has travelled the country and business booms during the summer season.

Jen, from Wentworth Meadows, Penistone, said: ”We are a quirky fashion brand specialising in cosmetic glitter. We travel around the country applying glitter to people’s hair, face and body at festivals and beauty events - being regulars at some of the biggest events in the UK like Leeds Festival, V Festival, Big Feastival, Gloworm Festival, All the colour obstacle rush locations across the country, Clothes Show Live and Beautycon. We also offer bespoke party packages for people to experience our service in a more personal manner. We do children's parties, birthday, hen and stag dos, corporate events and wedding evening parties.”

It was a transatlantic trend which gave Jen the idea.

“I saw the glitter craze coming over from America in 2016 and thought it was time to transition from selling tie-dye t-shirts to the wonderful world of glitter - bio-degradable only of course.

“I'm currently studying a degree in sports science at Barnsley university that is linked to Leeds Trinity. It's hard and takes a lot of organisation and time management but I know that I need a degree to back me up as a career option whilst I try to build a business empire.”

Jen has been nominated in the Young Entrepreneur category.

She took home the top prize at the 2014 Proud of Barnsley awards too for previous business, The Blue Frog clothing.

“I usually employ 3-5 people over the summer period as this is the busiest time for me. They travel around the country glittering people up for me and get to experience all these cool events.

“Friends and family are all very supportive. They all offer to help whenever and however they can and that is such a big advantage for me.

“It is a great feeling to be recognised for an award, especially in my local area. I would love to bring my brand to more local people so I hope this encourages them to get in touch and book a party with us.”
