Lee Johnson has joined Barnsley as manager from League One rivals Oldham Athletic.
A compensation package was agreed for the 33-year-old who will be joined at Oakwell by assistant Tommy Wright.
Barnsley have been looking for a manager for a fortnight after Danny Wilson was sacked. The Reds were beaten 5-1 at Crawley Town in the first game under caretaker Mark Burton who has since masterminded wins over Crewe and Scunthorpe.
Former Bristol City and Johnson will inherit a side four points off the play-off places and eight clear of the relegation zone.

It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
