Barnsley have swooped to sign young midfielder Otis Khan following his release from Sheffield United.

Khan, 20, who was born in Ashton-under Lyme, but is eligible to represent Pakistan, has signed a deal until the end of next season.

The youngster has made two appearances for Sheffield United and has also enjoyed loan spells in non-league football.

He spent part of last week on trial at Oakwell where he impressed head coach Lee Johnson.

He said: "Otis did really well in his trial arranged by our recruitment team and we're pleased he's joined us.

"He excelled at Conference level recently with Barrow and this is a great opportunity for him to kickstart his career."
Academy goalkeeper Jack Walton, 17, has joined Stalybridge Celtic on a 28-day loan spell.
