A POPULAR Mediterranean restaurant in Barnsley town centre has moved premises and changed its name.

Latinos has moved from George Yard on Hanson Street and is now called Lemon Tree on Peel Square.

It is still owned by Erdal Sahan and the staff, chefs and menus are exactly the same.

But manager David McGee said he thought Mr Sahan had chosen to move premises because it meant the restaurant was not upstairs.

"It's easier access for customers and it's more convenient for the restaurant to be on the ground floor.

"Latinos is empty at the moment and I believe Erdal has given up the lease and taken the lease on the former Heart of Barnsley pub.

"It was completely refurbished inside to change it from what it was to what it is now.

"Everything is going really well."
