PUBLICAN Les Hall and his wife Denise have served their last pint in the Corner Pin after almost 20 years.

Les, 57, who has worked 35 years in the pub trade, say changes in licensing hours have meant nights getting later and longer and that they are looking forward to spending time enjoying their new found freedom.

Les, of Longcar Lane, Barnsley, said: "It was a pub where a pensioner on her own could come for something to eat and feel safe and welcome, Even though it its slap in the middle of the town centre it had a village pub atmosphere because there were so many regulars.

"We will miss them."
