Barnsley have allowed Leroy Lita to join League One rivals Notts County on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old striker signed a one-year deal last summer but, after scoring twice in his first three matches, has not netted in the next 21.

Lita has been a substitute in most games in recent months and, with Sam Winnall returning to fitness and new head coach Lee Johnson currently favouring one up front, his chances of playing regularly at Oakwell look remote.

Johnson said last week in his first press conference that he knows Lita through their connections with Bristol City but the new boss has made the former England under 21 star the first player to leave the club in his reign.
